WordStream, Inc. (http://www.wordstream.com) today announced that Ralph J. Folz has been appointed CEO of the company as Rob Adler steps down to spend more time mentoring young startups and teaching.
Folz has an extensive background in the digital marketing space, including founding and subsequently selling Molecular Inc., an interactive Web design and Web marketing agency. Folz spent the last two plus years as Global Chief Operating Officer of Isobar, one of the largest digital marketing agencies in the world.
Folz expressed excitement at WordStreams market opportunity: I think there is tremendous growth potential for WordStream in the coming months and years. Given the differentiated nature of the companys technology and the success to date in establishing a strong brand along with the rapid growth in the WordStream customer base, Im confident we can establish ourselves as a global market leader.
Folz joins the company as it prepares for aggressive growth in May, WordStream secured series B financing in a round led by Egan-Managed Capital, joined by existing investor Sigma + Partners. The company has already begun to use the funding for continued expansion of its product suite for search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising.
Folz joined WordStreams board a year ago and has been impressed with the companys accomplishments thus far.
