NJIT Continuing Professional Education announces ONLINE iPhone/iPad Software Application Development training class. NJIT is one of the first universities to offer training about iPhone and then about iPad app development. This non-credit iPhone & iPad Application Development course http://adultlearner.njit.edu/admissions/prospective/iphone_online.php is open to the general public and is available 100% online. Participants in this class receive a login to the NJIT Apple Developer Program portal and receive full access to all of the NJIT Apple resources without paying the additional $ 99 Apple Developer Registration fee required of private developers. The Apple resources include documentation, development software and video tutorials. This portal now supports both the Mac OS X Lion and Snow Leopard Development environments.
The online class features an NJIT expert instructor. Topics covered require some computing literacy and are germane both to free-lancing developers and entrepreneurs and to those seeking employment within corporations app development teams which are designing and implementing iPhone and iPod Touch software using the Apple Software Development Kit environment. Students learn how to create and deploy iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad applications on the software simulator and hardware devices.
Students practice the creation of Apple AppStore compliant apps so that they potentially can be offered by Apple as paid, downloadable commercial software packages. Currently, Apple pays accepted developers of iPhone and iPod apps 70% of the revenue generated. And, even though the entire class is offered online, for those close to NJITs campus in Newark, NJ, enrollees are welcome to use a Mac lab to work on class projects.
